300,000 young people in Liberia have been orphaned by the country's civil war. Now that the war is over, these youngest victims are left without food, shelter or educational opportunities. They find refuge in cemeteries and under bridges, scavenging for food and water.

Nadia Bitar, a native Liberian, has created haven missions, a non-profit, to care for as many of these children as we can. Working with friends and family on a volunteer basis we raised 40k in December '07. We bought 10 acres of land and adopted 28 orphans, raising them to be productive citizens paying it forward in their communities. The next step is to raise an additional $150k, 100 percent of the proceeds goes to provide services for the kids-- to build an eco friendly children's village, the first of its kind in Liberia. Our mission is not just to provide housing, nutrition and medical care for haven's orphans but most importantly, to educate them.
